Check out my one of my favorite cheap eats in Melbourne: Jalan Alor’s Nasi Goreng Belachan (i.e. fried rice with seafood and egg, served in a coconut). I’m very picky with my fried rice and usually prefer Thai or Indonesian fried rice but this one is amazing. It’s full of flavour and not too salty and they are usually quite generous with the shrimp. The rice is also a tad mushy and sticky (the way I like it!), perhaps because it is served in a coconut?
